Figures and Narratives
28 in stock
Catalogue published in conjunction with the exhibition Figures and Narratives (06.03. – 10.09.2011). The exhibitions showed Norwegian contemporary art from the Astrup Fearnley Collection at Sogn Art Center, Lærdalsøyri.
The Astrup Fearnley Museum and Lærdal Municipality have had a strong connection and a mutual interest of an artistic dialogue throughout many years. The museum has previously had the opportunity of sharing quality art in Lærdal, and became involved in the opening exhibition of Sogn Art Center in 2011. In collaboration with the center's management, the Astrup Fearnley Museum initiated an exhibition of figurative art from its collection, presenting some of the foremost Norwegian artists during the last 40 years.
With the establishment of a new art center in Lærdal, a great new arena was created for art exhibitions by Norwegian and international artists. The new building will provide an important framework for the institution for future engagements and collaborations with other national and international cultural institutions.
