Before Tomorrow – Reflecting on the Astrup Fearnley Collection

Astrup Fearnley Museet is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2023. To mark this significant milestone, the museum is presenting the exhibition Before Tomorrow, featuring over one hundred works from the Astrup Fearnley Collection displayed across the institution’s two buildings.

This richly illustrated publication documents the artworks which make up the multifaceted narrative brought together in the exhibition. In addition, this publication includes installation views from Astrup Fearnley Museet’s exhibition history, and shows how the collection has been presented at different stages in the museum’s history.

With an introduction by Solveig Øvstebø and Owen Martin, and a new, commissioned essay by the Cape Town-based critic Sean O’Toole, whose text describes selected works from the exhibition, as well as reflecting on the collection as a whole, and Astrup Fearnley Museet’s thirty-year history.
