Tjuvholmen Sculpture Park

In Tjuvholmen Sculpture Park one can experience sculptures by some of the world’s most prominent contemporary artists, framed by the old quay and contemporary architecture.

The park is also designed by Renzo Piano, but developed under the advice of Poul Erik Tøjner, director of the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art.

Everything that you can control inside an exhibition room, such as the lighting and climate, is superbly handled at the sculpture park. The artworks are left to themselves and the forces of nature. The Sculpture Park at Tjuvholmen is not a monument but an open space for reflection and sensory contemplation, a destination, a place where you can take your ease. — Poul Erik Tøjner

The works presented there are Louise Bourgeois, Eyes (1992), Antony Gormley, Edge II (2000), Anish Kapoor, Untitled (1997), Ellsworth Kelly, Untitled (Totem) (1998), Paul McCarthy, White Snow Cake (2011), Ugo Rondinone, MOONRISE. East. November. (2006), Franz West, Spalt (2003), and Peter Fischli & David Weiss, Things for a House on an Island (2005). Apart from Things for a House on an Island by Peter Fischli & David Weiss, and Untitled (Totem) by Ellsworth Kelly, which are owned by Tjuvholmen KS, the works in the park are part of the Selvaag Art Collection, and are not part of the Astrup Fearnley Collection.
