Poems for Synnøve Anker Aurdal

Welcome to this reading with Maiken Horn Bolset, Karoline Brændjord, Fredrik Hagen, Morten Langeland and Jonathan August Lengali.

The reading will be held in Norwegian.

The audience, if they experience something in the picture, then they have to compose it themselves. It must not be the same as me.
– Synnøve Anker Aurdal

Anker Aurdal frequently found inspiration for her work in poetry. Words and phrases would sometimes trigger creative processes, either by taking the atmosphere of a poem as her point of departure, rendering it as poetry of her own in threads and colors, or by weaving sentences directly into the work itself.

To highlight this aspect of her practice, and Anker Aurdal’s close relationship with poetry, we have invited Priya Bains, Maiken Horn Bolset, Karoline Brændjord, Fredrik Hagen, Vilde Heggem, Morten Langeland, Jonathan August Lengali and Erlend O. Nødtvedt to write new poems for the newly published anthology Dikt til Synnøve Anker Aurdal (Poems for Synnøve Anker Aurdal). The poems draw a new line from poetry to Anker Aurdal’s colorful threads – but now its her tapestries that has been inspiring new poetry.

Saturday 20 August you can hear five of the authors, Maiken Horn Bolset, Karoline Brændjord, Fredrik Hagen, Morten Langeland og Jonathan August Lengali, read their own poems. The event is included in the entrance ticket. Welcome!
