Join Colombian artist and art historian Natalia Guti\u00e9rrez to explore Beatriz Gonz\u00e1lez\u2019s bold, powerful artistic practice through a selection of her favourite works. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

As a member, you are warmly invited to a walkthrough marking the finissage of the exhibition Beatriz Gonz\u00e1lez<\/em>.\u00a0The walkthrough will be conducted in English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From monumental paintings to repurposed furniture, wallpaper and installations, Gonz\u00e1lez draws on found images from popular culture and politics. With a distinctive graphic style and bold palette, her work explores the power and impact of the images we encounter every day, probing their potential to communicate. It also serves as a form of knowledge production and plays a crucial role in bringing us closer to a country\u2019s complex reality. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For almost a decade, Guti\u00e9rrez worked closely with Beatriz Gonz\u00e1lez as her studio manager, coordinating projects related to the artist\u2019s work and archive. These included the donation and cataloguing of Gonz\u00e1lez\u2019s documentary archive and making it accessible to the public. She also co-curated Beatriz Gonz\u00e1lez: War and Peace<\/em> at MUAC and De Pont Museum, as well as the first presentation of the current retrospective at Pinacoteca de S\u00e3o Paulo. The retrospective was jointly produced by Pinacoteca de S\u00e3o Paulo, the Barbican Centre in London and Astrup Fearnley Museet.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guti\u00e9rrez lives in Bogot\u00e1, where she conducts curatorial research and teaches at the Faculty of Creation at Universidad del Rosario. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
