Gonz\u00e1lez was not only a renowned artist, she was also a dedicated researcher and a thoughtful art historian. Seeing her work at the Astrup Fearnley Museum feels truly extraordinary.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beatriz Gonz\u00e1lez\u2019s unvarnished observation of the world around her led to a unique and unapologetic iconography. We will begin with her joyful examination of specific motifs from European masterpieces and explore how her singular perspective on these subjects mirrors many aspects of Colombian society. Inevitably, in a country wounded by violence, art takes us where words cannot. Her raw, honest, and brave observation of her country\u2019s pain allows her to create works in which the human need for meaning and understanding finds expression through images that are filled with both grief and defiance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Maria Esmeral Henriquez<\/strong> is a Colombian historian specializing in visual culture and epistemology. Her research centers on the many ways images convey knowledge and meaning. After earning a bachelor&#8217;s degree in Art History from the Sorbonne University in Paris, she pursued a master&#8217;s in Art History Research and Heritage, focusing on nineteenth-century botanical illustration, where she nurtured her interest in images beyond art production and art history. Finally, during her PhD studies, she focused on the social history of science in what is today South America, always using images as her main objects of study<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Visita guiada con la historiadora colombiana Mar\u00eda Esmeral Henr\u00edquez<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bienvenidos a esta visita guiada por la exposici\u00f3n de Beatriz Gonz\u00e1lez junto a Mar\u00eda Esmeral Henr\u00edquez. Gonz\u00e1lez no solo era una ampliamente reconocida, sino tambi\u00e9n una investigadora rigurosa y una historiadora del arte reflexiva. Ver su obra en el Museo Astrup Fearnley resulta verdaderamente excepcional.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La observaci\u00f3n directa y sin maquillaje que Beatriz Gonz\u00e1lez hizo del mundo a su alrededor dio lugar a una iconograf\u00eda \u00fanica e irreverente. Comenzaremos examinando sus vivas representaciones de motivos espec\u00edficos de obras maestras del arte europeo y veremos c\u00f3mo su mirada reflej\u00f3, a su vez, muchos aspectos de la sociedad colombiana. Su mirada cruda, honesta y valiente del dolor de su pa\u00eds le permiti\u00f3 crear obras en las que la necesidad humana de comprender y encontrarle sentido a la realidad encontr\u00f3 expresi\u00f3n a trav\u00e9s de im\u00e1genes cargadas tanto de duelo como de resistencia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mar\u00eda Esmeral Henr\u00edquez<\/strong> es una historiadora colombiana especializada en cultura visual y epistemolog\u00eda. Su investigaci\u00f3n se centra en las m\u00faltiples maneras en que las im\u00e1genes transmiten conocimiento y significado. Tras obtener una licenciatura en Historia del Arte en la Universidad de la Sorbona de Par\u00eds, curs\u00f3 una maestr\u00eda en Investigaci\u00f3n en Historia del Arte y Patrimonio, especializ\u00e1ndose en la ilustraci\u00f3n bot\u00e1nica del siglo XIX, donde desarroll\u00f3 su inter\u00e9s por las im\u00e1genes m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de la producci\u00f3n art\u00edstica y de la historia del arte.
