The book is richly illustrated with reproductions of artworks, archival material, and exhibition photographs, and features texts that open new perspectives on Leonard Rickhard\u2019s universe, written by Barry Schwabsky, Sinziana Ravini, Kjetil Tr\u00e6dal Thorsen, and Sabeth Buchmann \u2013 as well as an essay by the editors Steinar Sekkingstad and Solveig \u00d8vsteb\u00f8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-welcome-by-marie-vallestad-introduction-to-the-book-by-steinar-sekkingstadpresentation-by-marit-eikemo\"><strong>Welcome by Marie Vallestad <\/strong><br><strong>Introduction to the book by Steinar Sekkingstad<\/strong><br><strong>Presentation by Marit Eikemo<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The launch will take place in the building that houses the Astrup Fearnley Collection. Lutz Bacher lived in Berkeley, California and later New York City. As an artist, Bacher spent her life grappling with the political and psychic undertow of the last American century. A number of the subjects in Burning the Days are iconic American symbols: presidents, bison, widows, weapons, and would be assassins. Her art was animated from this violent outside, but much also emerged from questions inside, twinkling with a more intimate and existential register\u2014Who might Lutz Bacher be?  What might she do as an artist? She has previously worked as an editor, director of the Literature Symposium in Odda, publishing editor, and director of Cornerteatret in Bergen.
