Allora & Calzadilla\u2019s installation Clamor<\/em> (2006), part of the Astrup Fearnley Collection, will be activated by six live musicians. Through a research-based approach, Allora & Calzadilla\u2019s work traces the intersections of history, material culture and politics. Their installation Clamor<\/em> explores the relationship between sound, music, and war. The artists assembled an extensive archive of war songs from a wide variety of contexts. These songs are played by dueling musicians hidden inside the work, creating a cacophonous sound montage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Johanna Scheie Orellana, Torstein Lavik Larsen, Sigurd Skogdal, Danielle Price, Martin Lee Thomson, and Frank Hannasvik. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jennifer Allora<\/strong> (born 1974 in Philadelphia, USA) and Guillermo Calzadilla <\/strong>(born 1971 in La Havana, Cuba) are an artist duo living and working in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Allora & Calzadilla have collaborated on an extensive body of work since 1995. Through a research-based approach, their work traces the intersections of history, material culture and politics through a wide range of mediums, including sculpture, performance, sound, video, and photography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event is part of Before Tomorrow Live \u2013 a program of performance, talks, sound, and screenings as an extension of the anniversary exhibition Before Tomorrow<\/em> \u2013 Astrup Fearnley Museet 30 Years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The performance lasts from 13:00 to 16:00 with some short breaks. Feel free to come and go as you please – it’s included in the admission ticket!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
