Solveig Øvstebø started her new role as the museum´s Executive Director and Chief Curator on 20 May 2020.
An art historian with a strong professional foundation, Øvstebø comes to the Astrup Fearnley Museet after seven years as Executive Director and Chief Curator of the Renaissance Society in Chicago. Before that, she served as the director of Bergen Kunsthall from 2003 to 2013. Her vision for the museum is to ‘provide the artists with the best possible framework’, to make it a place that can enhance people’s understanding of art, and to reflect diversity.
