Kunstpodden Live | Olav Christopher Jenssen

Welcome to Kunstpodden Live at Astrup Fearnley Museet

Olav Christopher Jenssen (b. 1954) is one of Norway’s leading contemporary artists, with a significant international presence — and a central figure in the Astrup Fearnley Collection.

His work has often been discussed in relation to traditions of abstract painting and neo-expressionism. Jenssen himself is less concerned with labels, focusing instead on a sense of human presence.

In this evening’s conversation, Jenssen joins art historian and Kunstpodden host Cecilie Tyri Holt to revisit his breakthrough in the 1990s and explore what shapes his artistic expression today. What drives an artistic practice that remains in constant transformation?

The conversation will be documented in an upcoming episode of Kunstpodden.

Kunstpodden is Norway’s first podcast dedicated to art, examining the structures behind exhibitions and the processes that shape artistic practices.
