“When we got the invitation to show IMAGINE BRAZIL at the Tomio Ohtake Instituto in São Paulo, we thought it was important to bring the selection of works in the exhibition up to date. If we were to show works by emerging Brazilian artists in their own country, where the art scene is exceptionally dynamic, it was clear that we had to show new ones. Of course, we kept the same list of artists and the curatorial model, where the young artists, chosen by the curators, were asked to invite more established artists. However, there is an important modification due to the size of the exhibition space. In this version of the exhibition, we have not been able to include the Artist’s Books exhibition within the exhibition.”
