As a member, you are warmly invited to a walkthrough marking the finissage of the exhibition Beatriz González. The walkthrough will be conducted in English.

From monumental paintings to repurposed furniture, wallpaper and installations, González draws on found images from popular culture and politics. With a distinctive graphic style and bold palette, her work explores the power and impact of the images we encounter every day, probing their potential to communicate. It also serves as a form of knowledge production and plays a crucial role in bringing us closer to a country’s complex reality. 

For almost a decade, Gutiérrez worked closely with Beatriz González as her studio manager, coordinating projects related to the artist’s work and archive. These included the donation and cataloguing of González’s documentary archive and making it accessible to the public. She also co-curated Beatriz González: War and Peace at MUAC and De Pont Museum, as well as the first presentation of the current retrospective at Pinacoteca de São Paulo. The retrospective was jointly produced by Pinacoteca de São Paulo, the Barbican Centre in London and Astrup Fearnley Museet.  

Gutiérrez lives in Bogotá, where she conducts curatorial research and teaches at the Faculty of Creation at Universidad del Rosario.
