Cai Guo-Qiang, 'The Eagle has Arrived', 2001
This exhibition turns the spotlight on developments in contemporary art where art incorporates and activates the viewing public. Art becomes part of our social reality. The artists make a deliberate effort to actively involve the public in the process of creation of their work. Although approaches may differ, what unites these artists is the drive and adventurous nature of their chosen means of expression and the wide public appeal of their work. The items on display in this exhibition form part of the Astrup Fearnley Collection.
